(2)為提高大眾對《基本法》的認知和在社區推廣學習《基本法》的風氣，所有公務員職位的招聘，均會包括《基本法》知識的評核。獲邀參加遴選面試的應徵者，其對基本法的認識會在面試中以口頭提問形式被評核。除非兩位應徵者的整體表現相若，招聘當局才會參考應徵者在基本法知識測試中的表現。
職責: 丈量員主要職責是－
(a) 協助測量主任或土地測量師職系人員進行實地測量；
(b) 備妥、保管、保養和運送測量儀器、工具和物品，以便進行實地測量；
(c) 保持測量設備儲存室整潔；以及
(d) 協助訓練二級工人。
(獲取錄的申請人可能須不定時工作，以及須於交通繁忙、崎嶇或高低不平的地方和惡劣天氣情況下進行戶外工作。)
聘用條款: 獲取錄的申請人通常會按公務員試用條款受聘三年。通過試用關限後，或可獲考慮按當時適用的長期聘用條款聘用。
附註: (a) 除另有指明外，申請人於獲聘時必須已成為香港特別行政區永久性居民。

(i) 持有本港以外學府╱非香港考試及評核局頒授的學歷人士亦可申請，惟其學歷必須經過評審以確定是否與職位所要求的本地學歷水平相若。有關申請人須郵寄修業成績副本及證書副本到下列查詢地址。

申請手續: 申請表格【通用表格第340號（3/2013修訂版）】，可向民政事務總署各區民政事務處諮詢服務中心或勞工處就業科各就業中心索取。該表格也可從公務員事務局互聯網站（http://www.csb.gov.hk）下載。

申請表格填妥後，須在截止申請日期或之前連同學歷和相關工作經驗的證明文件副本送達下述查詢地址（如以郵寄方式提交申請，申請日期以信封上郵戳所示者為準）。請在信封上註明所申請職位的名稱。

申請人亦可透過公務員事務局互聯網站作網上申請。申請人如在網上遞交申請，必須於截止申請日期或之前把有關證明文件送達下列地址，或以電郵方式遞交（hqane@hyd.gov.hk）。請在信封面或電郵內註明職位和網上申請編號。資料不齊全、逾期或以傳真／電郵方式遞交、或並非使用指定表格的申請，概不受理。

Salary: Master Pay Scale Point 5 ($13,600) per month to Master Pay Scale Point 8 ($16,425) per month
Entry Requirements: Candidates should have –
(a) at least two years of relevant experience in land/engineering survey;
(b) passed a relevant trade test; and
(c) attained a level of proficiency in Chinese and English Languages equivalent to Primary 6 standard.
Note: (1)The post is open to both male and female candidates.
(2)For the purpose of heightening public awareness of the Basic Law (BL) and promoting a culture of learning of BL in the community, assessment of BL knowledge will be included in the recruitment for all civil service jobs. Candidates who are invited to attend the recruitment interview will be tested orally on their BL knowledge during recruitment interview. The results of BL assessment will be taken into account only if two candidates are considered equal in all other aspects.
Duties: A Chainman is mainly deployed on –
(a) assisting members of Survey Officer or Land Surveyor grades to carry out survey work in the field;
(b) undertaking the preparation, care, maintenance and transportation of survey equipment, tools and materials for field survey operations;
(c) maintaining the order and cleanliness of the survey store; and
(d) assisting in the training of Workman II.
(Selected candidates may be required to work irregular hours and work outdoor in heavy traffic, hilly or rugged areas and in inclement weather conditions.)
Terms of Appointment: A successful candidate will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, the officer may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
General Notes: (a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

Completed form, together with a copy of documentary evidence of academic qualifications and relevant working experience, should reach the enquiry address below on or before the closing date for application (the postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of application). Please mark on envelope the title of the job applied for.
