(b) 符合語文能力要求,即在香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科考獲第2級(註一)或以上成績,或具同等成績。
註: (1) 政府在聘任公務員時,2007年前的香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科 (課程乙) C級及E級成績,在行政上會分別被視為等同2007年或之後香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科第3級和第2級成績。

職責: (1) 協助助理工程督察和一級監工就民政事務總署的工程項目進行日常監督工作,包括地盤勘測和實地量度/為總部審核組進行審計視察;
(2) 協助一級監工擬備工程項目的圖則;
(3) 協助一級監工備存地盤工作進度報告,以及向助理工程督察和一級監工匯報地盤事宜;
(4) 為進行工程項目與當區居民和/或地政總署的職員聯繫;以及
(5) 執行助理工程督察和一級監工所指派與民政事務總署工程相關的任何其他職務。

(註:二級監工可能須輪班、在正常辦公時間以外或在鄉郊村落/偏遠地區工作。)
聘用條款: 獲取錄的申請人通常會按公務員試用條款受聘三年。通過試用關限後,或可獲考慮按當時適用的長期聘用條款聘用。

Salary: Master Pay Scale Point 9 (HK$17,485) per month to Master Pay Scale Point 12 (HK$20,905) per month
Entry Requirements: (a) (i) a Certificate in Civil Engineering or Building Studies from a Hong Kong polytechnic university / polytechnic or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / technical college / technical institute, or equivalent; or (ii) five years’ experience in building or civil engineering works as a skilled worker; or (iii) satisfactory completion of a recognised technician apprenticeship in building or civil engineering field; and
(b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 (Note 1) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent.
Note: (1) For civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade C’ and ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ and ‘Level 2’ respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(2) Candidates who are invited for recruitment interview will normally receive an invitation around one week before the interview. As it takes time to process all applications, an invitation to the interview does not imply that the concerned candidate has met the stipulated entry requirements.
(3) For the purpose of heightening public awareness of the Basic Law (BL) and promoting a culture of learning of BL in the community, assessment of BL knowledge will be included in the recruitment for all civil service jobs. Candidates who are invited to attend the recruitment interview will be assessed on their BL knowledge through a written test to be conducted immediately before or after the recruitment interview. The BL test result will be one of the considerations to assess the suitability of a candidate.
(4) Candidates who are not invited for recruitment interview by late February 2015 may assume that their applications are unsuccessful. The period of notification of recruitment interview may be longer when a large number of applications are received or when there are other complications requiring a longer processing time for the applications.
Duties: (a) assisting Assistant Inspector of Works and Works Supervisor I in day-to-day supervision of Home Affairs Department (HAD) works projects in carrying out site investigation and field measurement / audit inspections (for audit team in Headquarters);
(b) assisting Works Supervisor I in preparing drawings of works projects;
(c) assisting Works Supervisor I in keeping site progress report and reporting site affairs to Assistant Inspector of Works and Works Supervisor I;
(d) liaising with local people and / or staff in the Lands Department in carrying out works projects; and
(e) performing any other duties relevant to HAD works as may be assigned by the Assistant Inspector of Works and Works Supervisor I.

[Note : A Works Supervisor II may be required to work shift, outside normal working hours or in rural villages / remote areas.]
Terms of Appointment: A new appointee will be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, the officer may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
